Day Two Cleanse
Checking in as I progress on my Eight Day Ayurvedic Cleanse. Day Two was much like yesterday; taking more quiet time for myself while at times longing to eat what those around me are relishing.
Today’s good was the nap I took this afternoon. Honestly, I cannot remember the last time I enjoyed a mid-day nap. As part of this cleanse you are asked to truly find time in your day to rest and relax; cutting down on the outside stimulus that inevitably clouds our every day. For this I am grateful as learning to quiet my mind is something I grapple with regularly.
Today’s bad was making dinner for my family, knowing I could not even taste it to determine if it was ready. There is something about the aroma that fills my house as I cook, making it quite hard to deny myself what it offers and enjoy with my family.
Yet, one consistent remained between Day One and Day Two: the ugly, a.k.a. eating the ghee (which is clarified butter for those that have been asking) when I first wake up. And what’s worse is the amount of ghee I have to eat increases with the next two days. Then again, it is early in the morning that I get the worst part of my day over with and for that I am thankful.
I appreciate everyone’s words of encouragement, questions and answers. Thank you for sharing with me, it certainly helps at all points throughout my day.
